Yeah open isn’t much use for the train. Well, it won’t be good for my fellow passengers, anyway. Plus I really think I want earbuds, because they’re a lot easier to put in your pocket.

The button is actually awesome! In addition to being the mic for the hands free, and answering/hanging up calls, it can play/pause music (with a single click) and advance to the next track (double click). As the iPhone is touchscreen, doing these things without the button involves taking it out of my pocket, turning it on, unlocking it, then jabbing at the buttons on the UI — and none of that can be done with gloves on. Having used the pack-in Apple headphones for a few weeks I don’t want to give that up.

My Dad has the Grado SR60 http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/product.asp?id=1021 which sound great. Paid about £40 for them shipped from the States when $-£ was more like 2-1.

The driver is the same in the iGrado but they are more portable and aren’t open. No button but who gives a shit about that?
