What do you think? 
The flat colour on the dots around “.co.uk” needs work (probably a simple emboss effect to bring it into 3d) and I need to edge the whole thing somehow (probably just round off the corners). Other than that, I’m pretty pleased with this. Comments? For starters, how many of you know what this is?
I am so loving that….. bringing back so many memories, most of them bad, but still! Awesome
You need to give my screen that highly tactile, impossible to touch-type response or there’s really no point!
Kidding of course, it was my first when I was about 4 so I like it.
I think you need that little rainbow flash running through as well. To do the borders you could just nick all 4 edges off the real thing with some clone tool magickery.
It will only really be worth it if you strangle the bandwidth of the server, make your site take fifteen minutes to load and give it some serious colour clash. Tape loading error to replace 404?

Loving it! Would make a neat skin for the iPhone keyboard.
@Emanuel Crisp “tactile” = “feels like dead flesh”, yeah? I think the rainbow flash will go in the far right somewhere, away from that part of the logo. I did look at using the original oorners but it doesn’t work so well. Firstly, it ends up looking like some sort of weird-assed mini keyboard, rather than just a row of keys; secondly, the top of it has that flat plastic part, rather than the metal backing to the keyboard itself, so the texture is wrong.
@Dirk Mittleberger: yeah yeah. Although R:TAPE LOADING ERROR for a custom 404 page is an amusing idea and I might do that.
@duds: I bet our intern from work won’t, his first computer was a 100MHz Pentium.

Wow, certainly being back a few memories for me, though being that bit older I still have my ZX81 in the loft.
Are you going to animate it? with a roll over that depresses the buttons?
@James Mercer Bad memories? Surely you’re not talking about sticking a tape into run, having your dinner, coming back and it’s still not having loaded? personally i used to love having to balance a bottle of water from the fridge on the powerpack to stop it overheating, added to the wonder of it all.
I like. Very much like Rob’s idea of animating it too.
